Still Center
Mixed media on canvas
36" x 36"
Two strokes of molten gold cross at the heart of a pale sky blue field, splashing outward in drips and flecks as if poured in a single breath. Around this calm center, four small worlds sit in the corners: a speckled square of emerald and ochre, a white panel brushed with gray vertical strokes, a soft field dusted with wine red spray, and a cool slate surface built from thick, gritty texture. Each one tells a different story, yet all of them turn toward the light at the middle. Mandie poured the gold freely and let it ripple into marbled white, setting the four panels around it like seasons. The piece radiates steadiness and grace.
Balanced and serene, this canvas brings focus to a home office or a calm living room. Hang it above a walnut console with a pair of brass candlesticks, or against warm gray walls, and its crossed strokes of gold will gently draw the eye inward.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
