Tears of Ink
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
A single dark shape runs the length of the panel, deep navy and glossy, its edges torn and splashed like ink that spilled before the words could be found. Within it, a pale circle opens, crusted and crackled white, as if a tear had dried right there on the page. The ground around it is silvery blue, brushed and scraped into soft ripples, misted with spray like a window on a rainy day. Near the bottom, a small bright bloom of green appears with a few scattered seeds of color, quiet and unexpected. Mandie poured the ink and let it pool, crack and wander, accepting every mark it left. The piece honors sorrow gently, and leaves room for something new to grow.
Poetic and moody, it suits a writer's study, a library or a quiet bedroom corner. The deep navy and crackled white look elegant against soft gray or ink blue walls, with black frames, leather journals and a vintage desk lamp nearby.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
