Turning Point
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
Warm turns to cool across the width of this narrow panel, as if a single moment had been stretched from top to bottom. On the left, a crimson line drops and pools into a rounded bead; beside it stands a column of soft salmon marbled with fine cells; then the color shifts to sea green and turquoise, flecked with lemon, before deepening into cobalt and navy at the far edge. The pours branch and reconnect like water finding new channels. Mandie tipped the panel and let the colors choose their own boundaries. It captures the instant when something within changes direction, quietly and for good.
Thoughtful and quietly dramatic, it suits a study, a landing or the space beside a bedroom window. Its shift from warm salmon to cool blue works beautifully with warm gray walls, mixed wood tones and textiles that combine rust and slate.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
