Two Voices
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
On a bare wooden panel, its grain still visible through the paint, two sets of looping lines rise side by side: one sunny yellow, one vivid pink. Each was sprayed in soft, overlapping circles, the edges glowing and diffuse, and where they meet in the middle they overlap into a warm blush of orange. A single small stroke of violet hovers near the upper corner like a quiet aside. The surface stays light and airy, letting the natural wood breathe between the gestures. Mandie worked quickly with the spray, letting each loop drift slightly from the last, so the two forms seem to speak and answer in their own rhythm. It is a tender portrait of conversation, two distinct presences turning toward each other.
A sweet piece for two, it fits a shared bedroom, a nursery or a sunny breakfast room. The visible wood grain loves companions in oak, rattan and cane, and its yellow and pink glow warmly against cream or pale blush walls.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
