Unhurried Joy
Mixed media on panel
24" x 18"
Pale lime pours over the left side like sunshine spilled from a bucket, running down in long, liquid lines across stripes of rust, olive and deep plum. To the right, coral and cobalt brush past each other in loose strokes, scattered with splashes of turquoise and two bright green drops that seem to dance across the surface. Soft, cloudy strokes of seafoam and pale blue rise from the bottom corner. Mandie layered quickly and playfully, flicking, pouring and brushing, and leaving room for chance to add its own small jokes. There is no hurry in this happiness, only a slow, generous delight that keeps unfolding the longer you look.
Looking for something with warmth and a little mischief? This canvas suits earthy interiors beautifully, perhaps over a walnut sideboard in the dining room or beside a cognac leather chair in the den, where its pale lime and coral notes add a bright, playful spark.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
