Valse
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
Four tall, feathered forms sway across the canvas like dancers in mid-turn. Two are silvery white, bright and airy, and two are dark charcoal, slender and elegant, all of them swept upward with quick strokes that leave every frond standing proud of the surface. Behind them, the room spins with color: golden yellow, a pool of black, emerald green, dusty rose, a column of violet, lilac and a deep, rich blue. White paint is flung and dripped over everything, catching each motion in flight. Mandie worked in fast, rhythmic gestures and let the splashes fall where the movement carried them. The painting turns with an easy grace, light on its feet and full of joy.
Black, white and silver make this canvas endlessly versatile, from a formal dining room to a minimalist bedroom. Pair it with charcoal velvet, white oak and polished chrome, or set it on a soft greige wall where its feathered strokes cast fine shadows in side light.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
