Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
Two triangles of scarlet meet at a single point, shaping the outline of an hourglass across a field of cobalt and teal. The red is thick and raised, almost encrusted, its surface flecked with gold and green where the colors underneath rose up through it. Above, bands of mustard and green release long drips that run the full height of the panel, steady as falling sand. The background is cool and deep, streaked with thin pale lines that catch the light. Mandie laid the red in heavy, deliberate passes and let the drips decide their own pace. It captures the restless patience of time passing slowly, and the hope of what comes next.
Strong and graphic, its hourglass of scarlet on blue gives a modern dining room or an entryway real presence. Add a lacquered red accent, a navy runner and brass fixtures, or hang it against soft gray so the raised texture of the red stands out.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
