Wandering Mind
Mixed media on panel
20" x 10"
Thoughts drift down the panel and none of them go in a straight line. A red stream wanders along the left side, bending and branching, shedding a few small orange blooms as it goes. Next to it, a ribbon of golden yellow melts slowly into moss and olive green, as if a bright idea were turning over in the shade. A charcoal line twists in from the top right, a sky blue drip falls long and steady to end in a single round drop, and deep plum and forest green settle near the bottom. Mandie let each pour meander and pool as it liked, following rather than leading. It feels like a daydream on a slow afternoon, curious, unhurried and gently content.
Drifting thoughts are part of any creative life, and this slim canvas celebrates them in a studio nook or a home office. Its red and orange meanders look lively against pale walls, with light oak, art books and a trailing plant echoing its winding path.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
