Welcome
Mixed media on panel
48" x 48"
A great oval of pale sky blue opens at the center of the panel, rimmed in soft charcoal like a doorway or a window into light. To the left, a deep navy shape drips long black threads down over the bare wood, and a soft square of pink glows just beside it. To the right, a field of lemon yellow is touched with drifting blue shapes that bleed and run like watercolor in the rain, while sprayed rings float near the top corner. The whole surface balances raw panel, sprayed haze and wet, glossy drips. Mandie sprayed the oval in broad, sweeping motions and let the rest arrive around it. The painting feels open hearted and warm, like a door held open for someone you love.
As its name suggests, it belongs near the front door. An entryway or foyer is ideal, where its pale blue opening greets each guest. Add warm wood, a simple bench, a soft pink accent and a mirror nearby to bounce light across the space.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
