What the Rain Left
Mixed media and resin on panel
8" x 8"
After the storm passes, only the traces remain. Thin lines of coral red and burnt orange run down a creamy white ground, edged here and there with turquoise, saffron and soft violet where the colors bled into one another. At the top, the pours gather into a dusky, smoky band, then separate and fall in long parallel streams, leaving pale arched shapes between them. Under the clear resin, a fine web of crackle lines spreads across the white like the surface of old porcelain. Mandie let the paint drip and dry on its own time, then sealed every vein and hairline crack beneath the glassy finish. The piece feels calm and cleansed, a fresh beginning washed clean.
On a bookshelf, a nightstand, or a gallery wall, this little square adds a gentle trace of color. Cream and coral textiles, a small ceramic cup, and the soft daylight of a north facing window let its fine lines and quiet palette shine.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
