Wrapped in Night
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
Tall and narrow, this panel is cloaked in a dark, bubbled web, every opening a small window onto the warm cream beneath. Within the shadows, hints of berry red, deep green and midnight blue glimmer and fade, like city lights seen through a nighttime fog or colors remembered in a dream. The texture is raised and tactile, the edges softly irregular, with a little gold glow escaping at the sides. Mandie pressed paint through a plastic mesh surface and lifted it away, accepting whatever the pattern chose to leave. The piece feels hushed and comforting, like settling into the deep calm of evening.
A slim wall in a hallway or powder room, or the gap beside a bookshelf, is the perfect home for Wrapped in Night. Deep berry, forest green, and cream accents, with a warm picture light, reveal the hidden color glimmering beneath its dark lace.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
