A Quiet Breath
Mixed media on canvas
48" x 48"
On a vast field of white, a single line of thick white paint descends from the top, starting as a tight, textured ridge and loosening as it falls into a trail of drops, petals, curls and tiny pools. White on white, it reveals itself slowly, through shadow and shine rather than color, changing with every shift of the light. The rest of the canvas stays almost entirely still, with only the faintest scrapes and marks. Mandie let the paint fall and settle freely, trusting the material to find its own rhythm. The effect is soothing and pure, like watching your own exhale on a winter morning, a moment of peace made visible.
Minimal and luminous, it suits a serene bedroom, a gallery-like hallway or a modern living room. Against white walls, its textured line reveals itself through shadow, so hang it where side light passes. Pale oak, stone and a single sculptural vase complete the calm.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
