A Sign, Perhaps

Bright white lines cross a field of clear turquoise, as if someone had written a message on the sky and left it for whoever happened to look up. One long stroke runs along the top; below it, a branching form reaches outward like a twig, a rune or a hand raised in greeting. The white has dried into a web of fine cracks, and a few loose splashes trail off toward the bottom, where a rough, scraped ridge of pale blue and white rises like distant snow. Mandie poured these lines in single, unhurried gestures and let the paint crack as it pleased. The result feels like a quiet answer, offered gently and with grace.
How about a hallway, where it can catch your eye as you pass? Its clear turquoise and bright white lines bring a fresh lift to a small wall, a bathroom or a sunny kitchen shelf, and they look crisp beside rattan, white ceramics and green plants.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
