Cantilena III
Mixed media and resin on panel
8" x 8"
Pale aqua and bright saffron meet at the top, then slip gently downward over a rich olive gold ground. The aqua falls in a few slim lines that end in tiny pearl-like beads; the saffron drops in longer, slender fingers, one stretching almost to the bottom. Faint shapes in the background echo the drips like soft shadows, adding quiet depth. Under its clear resin finish, the surface is smooth and luminous, as if the color were suspended in glass. Mandie let the paint lead, stepping back as it traveled and pooled. The result feels tender and lighthearted, like a soft tune hummed on a slow morning.
Delicate and warm, it brings a gentle shimmer to a powder room, a dressing table or a cozy reading corner. Olive and aqua accents, a small brass dish and soft lamplight suit its palette, and it pairs beautifully with its Cantilena companions.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
