Cradled
Mixed media on panel
20" x 16"
Under a deep indigo sky, a pale crescent lies curled on its back, wrapped in a thick, glossy band of lemon yellow that holds it like an embrace. High in the upper right, a small golden moon swirls in slow spirals, and between the two a trail of tiny yellow dots drifts across a haze of misty gold, like a lullaby carried on the night air. A soft white glow rises from the curve below, as if it were breathing. Mandie swept the yellow freely around the pale form and let it spill and puddle at the edge, then sprayed the darkness into velvet. It is a picture of tenderness, of resting safely in loving arms.
Lullabies and late night stories suit it best. Hang Cradled in a nursery, a bedroom, or a quiet reading nook, where indigo bedding, soft yellow accents, and the warm light of a bedside lamp echo its embracing crescent as night settles in.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
