Finding the Way
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
A winding stream of turquoise and cerulean makes its way down the panel, narrowing, widening and doubling back like a river carving through a canyon. A fine thread of red traces its left bank, and a glint of yellow flickers in the middle like sun on moving water. To the right, a line of deep indigo breaks into dashes and drops, a dotted trail laid down for anyone who might follow. At the bottom, the stream opens into a pool of teal, finally at rest. Mandie poured from above and let the color decide each bend. It feels like trust, the slow certainty of a path revealing itself one turn at a time.
Hang it where journeys begin, by the front door, at the foot of the stairs or along an entry hall. The turquoise and cerulean feel fresh with stone floors, a woven runner and a rattan bench, and the fine red thread adds a lively touch.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
