Foundation
Mixed media and resin
7" x 5"
A column of bright yellow rises through a body of cobalt blue, rooted at the base and flaring at the top like a flame or the trunk of a young tree. Around it the blue breaks into pale, lacy cells, as if mineral and water had crystallized together over centuries. A warm coral haze glows at the upper corners, sprayed fine as dust. Under resin, everything gains a soft gleam and depth. Mandie poured the layers and let them separate and bloom, then sealed the moment so the movement stays caught inside. Small but steady, it feels like the thing everything else is built upon, a quiet strength that holds.
A small, steady presence, Foundation is lovely on a writing desk, a bookshelf, or a little easel by the window. Cobalt glass, warm wood, and a candle nearby echo its bright column of yellow rising through blue, a quiet daily encouragement.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
