Gentle Days II
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
$1,200 USD
Thin ribbons of leaf green, saffron, tangerine and cherry red drip in long parallel lines, swaying slightly as they travel down the panel. At either edge, deep navy breaks into dots and short dashes, a soft punctuation that keeps the colors company. A couple of small round drops of lime appear near the top like buds on a branch. The ground is airy, sprayed with pale blue clouds. Mandie let each line fall from the top and run until it was done, stopping where the paint chose. There is comfort in its easy repetition, the kind of steady, everyday goodness that makes a life feel full.
Sweet and easy to live with, this panel suits a kitchen wall between cabinets, a child's room or a sunny bathroom. The warm ribbons and navy dots pair nicely with blue and white stripes, pale oak and potted herbs, and they mingle happily with the rest of the series.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
