Gentle Days X
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
Blue and navy lead the way down the left side, long and loose, their bases spreading into soft puddles as though they paused to rest. To the right, green, yellow and orange crowd together at the top in a bright, swirling crown before letting themselves fall in slender, parallel lines. A lone red stream stands slightly apart, curling over at its tip like a hand raised in greeting. The glossy surface holds tiny ripples along every edge. Mandie poured and stood the panel up, letting each color travel the length it wanted. There is a sweetness here, a sense of company and contentment, the kind of day that feels like a gift.
Easygoing and bright, this panel suits a kitchen, a family room or the narrow wall at the top of the stairs. The blues and warm crown of green, yellow and orange look cheerful with natural wood, woven baskets and simple ceramics.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
