Hidden Feelings
Mixed media on panel
14" x 11"
A veil of dark, honeycombed texture hangs over this panel, its hundreds of small round openings letting a pale cream ground peek through like light through lace. Within the charcoal, color stirs quietly: patches of wine red, moss green and deep indigo surface and fade, as though emotions were moving just beneath a calm face. The edges are ragged and uneven, the layer lifting slightly from the ground behind it. Mandie pressed paint through a bubbled plastic surface and peeled it away, letting the pattern and the colors land where they would. The piece speaks softly of everything we carry inside, and the beauty of letting a little of it show.
Its lacy veil invites a closer look, so give it a spot at eye level: a hallway, a study wall, or a bedside nook. Dark walnut, cream textiles, and soft lamplight bring out the hidden colors glimmering beneath its surface.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
