Meant to Meet
Mixed media on panel
12" x 12"
Three pools of color lean into one another as if drawn by a quiet magnetism: a green that ripens into gold at its heart, a cool cerulean blue and a soft violet, each ringed with darker edges where the pour slowly settled. Across them, two strokes of pale lemon cross and connect, tying all three together. The surrounding ground is a hazy mint, freckled with spray and opening into fine cracks in one corner. Mandie poured each circle and let them spread until their edges touched on their own, a meeting she guided only gently. The result suggests friendship, or fate, sweet and wonderfully unexpected.
For a couple's bedroom or a wedding gift, this small piece carries a gentle sense of connection. Set it on a nightstand or a narrow wall near the door, with soft violet or sage accents, a ceramic dish and a sprig of fresh greenery.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
