Mixed Feelings
Mixed media on panel
24" x 18"
A diagonal rush of color sweeps across a crinkled, almost papery surface: crimson, tangerine, sunflower yellow, teal and cobalt blending into one another like a rainbow caught in motion. Through the middle, quick dragged marks of white, orange, blue and green streak across in parallel, like strings being plucked all at once. Around the edges, the ground stays soft and pale, its wrinkled texture flecked with tiny bits of color and framed by warm yellow. The surface invites close looking, every fold catching the light differently. Mandie layered the textured ground and then sprayed and dragged the color across it in a single, emotional pass. It holds happiness and heartache side by side, honest and deeply human.
Every color has a seat at this table, so try it in a family kitchen, a playroom, or a lively hallway. A neutral backdrop of soft gray or warm plaster lets its rainbow sweep take center stage, while simple oak furniture keeps the room grounded.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
