Moon Chasing Sun
Mixed media on panel
20" x 20"
Two golden forms share a deep teal sky. In the upper corner, a sun coils in on itself, its thick yellow paint swirled into raised spirals; across the panel, a crescent moon curves wide and buttery, its surface carved with a single amber groove. Between them, a fine dust of gold spray drifts like pollen on a warm night, softening every edge into glow. Mandie shaped each body with heavy, sculpted strokes and then misted the space around them, letting the haze gather wherever it wanted. The two never quite meet, yet they seem to lean toward one another, playful and devoted, in an endless, tender game of pursuit.
Day and night share the same wall here, which makes it a sweet choice for a bedroom or nursery. Deep teal bedding, brass or gold accents, and a soft reading lamp turn the corner into a cozy place to end the day.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
