Old Wounds Healing
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
Golden yellow runs down the heart of this panel, and inside it, fine red and orange cells bloom and spread like tissue slowly knitting itself back together. On the left, a strong column of cobalt stands guard, edged with soft turquoise; on the right, thin lines of orange and red waver and break, then continue. The marbling is intricate, almost lacy, a network of tiny veins catching the light. Mandie poured the colors side by side and let them blend only where they wanted to, creating that delicate pattern by chance. It is a painting about mending, the gentle, patient grace of things becoming whole.
Warm and restorative, it feels right in a bedroom, a meditation space or a quiet reading corner. The golden center and cobalt edge work beautifully with honey wood, brass accents and warm lamplight, making a cozy and nurturing atmosphere.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
