Ostinato III
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24"
A bold form of scarlet and tangerine stands tall at the center, rounded at the top, open in two places, as solid and insistent as a drumbeat. Its surface is veined with fine, lace-like patterns and warm flashes of yellow. Behind it, the navy ground is threaded with long vertical drips of pale aqua, lilac and gold, falling like rain behind a lit window, while a soft glow of mint brightens the upper edge. Mandie poured the red shape and let it flow and pull apart, then sent the drips cascading down around it. The contrast between fiery warmth and cool, falling lines gives the painting a steady, pulsing rhythm that stays with you.
Strong and rhythmic as a drumbeat, this canvas commands an entry, a dining room or a living room with ease. Warm terracotta or deep navy walls amplify its scarlet and tangerine, while black steel and leather let it lead the room with confidence.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
