Ostinato V
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24" x 2.5"
Over a soft rectangle of golden yellow and lavender mist, a fiery loop of orange and violet takes shape, tangled with threads of cobalt, turquoise and green. Its line twists and doubles back on itself like a melody repeated with endless variation. Long drips of pink, gold, teal and yellow fall from behind it toward the base, glowing against the dark slate ground. The surface is rich and layered, marbled where the colors crossed and textured where they thickened. Mandie poured the loop and let each color weave through the others, welcoming every unexpected crossing. The painting hums with energy and warmth, a pattern that returns and renews itself every time you look.
Waking up to this loop of orange and violet is a happy way to start the day, so consider it for a bedroom or a creative studio. Pale lilac or warm white walls flatter its golden mist, while cobalt and turquoise pillows or ceramics carry its colors through the room.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
