Small Celebrations
Mixed media on panel
48" x 48"
Joy shows up here in many little moments rather than one grand gesture. Soft blocks of cobalt, lemon, sky blue, magenta and coral are scattered across the panel like squares of colored glass, and over them falls a bright curtain of crimson, violet, gold and teal drips. Near the upper right, a few fine loops of turquoise swirl like a ribbon caught in the breeze. The background is sprayed and velvety, the drips are raised and glossy, and their meeting creates a lively, layered depth. Mandie let every pour take its own course, celebrating the happy accidents along the way. It feels like gratitude for the everyday, a whole life of bright little blessings.
Hang it where everyday moments happen: above a kitchen banquette, in a family room or across from the dining table. Colorful glassware, a magenta cushion and warm oak furniture repeat its bright little squares, making ordinary days feel quietly festive.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
