Stumbling
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
Color trips and catches itself down this tall panel. Near the top, a curl of coral and scarlet leans forward over a soft cloud of turquoise and cobalt; below, it happens again, red and orange tumbling against aqua, ultramarine and a spark of lemon. Between the two, a pair of tiny drops, one orange and one yellow, hang in the air like a breath caught midfall. The pours are smooth and marbled, with soft gradients where blue deepens to indigo. Mandie tilted the panel and let the paint slip, pause and run again, embracing every misstep. It is honest and hopeful, proof that falling is often part of learning to move.
Playful and human, this panel would be at home in a child's room, a creative studio or a hallway full of family life. The coral and turquoise feel cheerful with simple oak shelves, bright ceramics and a woven runner along the floor.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
