Summer Memories
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24" x 2.5"
Long, lazy afternoons come drifting back in this sunny panel. Soft fields of sky blue and lemon yellow meet in sprayed, hazy edges, like sunlight falling across a pool. On this bright ground float a handful of playful shapes: a pale blue form marbled with yellow, a curling stroke of deep green, a ruffled golden shape edged in navy and red that shimmers like a seashell, and a delicate silvery ring opening like a flower. Each one seems to bob in its own space, unhurried. Mandie poured these forms one by one, letting each spread and dry without interference. The whole piece feels light, happy and full of carefree nostalgia.
Poolside afternoons come back each time you pass it. Summer Memories suits a sunroom, a beach house, or a kitchen that catches late sun, and its deep profile looks crisp unframed. Sky blue, lemon, and rattan accents bring the season indoors.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
