Sweetness
Mixed media on panel
12" x 12"
Candy pink, crimson and coral layer across the middle of this panel like ribbons of frosting, held between soft bands of cream and a cool periwinkle ground. At the top and bottom, deep navy pools into wavy shapes edged with fresh green, framing all that sweetness in something richer and darker. Look closely and the surface is alive with small details: marbled cells in the cream, a curl of rose blooming low on the left, tiny bubbles caught in the reds. Mandie poured the bands one after another and let them nudge and blend at their borders. It tastes of birthday cake and summer evenings, pure delight with a little depth beneath.
Sweet without being saccharine, it adds charm to a bedroom, a powder room or a young person's room ready to grow up a little. The pinks and coral pop against navy or periwinkle accents, with scalloped edges, rattan and a little brass bringing it all together.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
