Weathered, Still Here
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24"
Wind and water have shaped this form, but it holds firm. A great rounded mass of cobalt and pale cerulean leans into the panel from the left, its surface rippled with long ridges like waves pushed across stone. Toward the right it turns luminous lemon and lime, glowing as though the sun had reached it at last. Small white glints scatter across the blue like spray caught midair. Behind it, a slate blue sky meets a cream ground touched with gray haze and faint drips. Mandie poured heavily and pushed the paint into motion, letting it ridge and pool as it would. It is battered and beautiful, and fully alive.
Resilience is a good thing to live with. Weathered, Still Here suits a study, a coastal home, or a quiet hallway, where cobalt cushions, weathered wood, and natural stone echo its wind shaped form and lend the room a grounded calm.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
